I really need to post more often [22 May 2009|10:44pm]
[ mood | tired ]

But a lack of computer will do that, I guess. Yeah, I haven't been on much because of no internets. Shelbie has been hogging it. Work's been... fine. Exhausting, but good. Speaking of which, we got robbed a couple weeks ago. Poor Joy, my "second mother" and my best friend's mom, was involved. Both her and my co-worker Chris were held at gun point and were forced to give the sonovabitch money. I think this event's traumatized Chris because he's trying to find ways out of working nights anymore. I understand, but like Joy said to me "You have to face your fears sometimes." We have a very likely suspect, but we don't really have evidence against him besides his walk and a certain catchphrase. All-in-all, it's been getting annoying to all of us when someone asks us "When did you get robbed," "Were you involved," yak-yak-yak. Not to mention my co-worker, Ken's, driving all of us up the frickin' walls. Yeah, he may have identified our assailant, but HE'S SO ANNOYING! He bosses us around - even the managers - talks the customers to death, does a shitty job on restocking the shelves, etc. I think Andrea, my boss, might be on her last frickin' nerve with him too. She regrets hiring the bastard.

In other news, the origination of my story "Freiheit" is in-production. To reiterate - Eleanore, you may know this story already - Freiheit (German for "liberation") was a fan project I started in high school my sophomore year. I used various characters from different TV shows, anime, games, etc. to come up with a cast. It was never meant to be taken serious, but I got people asking me "What happens next?" so I continued on to the point where there's multiple chapters and stories. Eventually, on the "sixth season" I got burned out and stopped writing it, because I had many plot points and a lack of a computer to use. One day, I told Morgan that I'm going to originate the story and make it a lot more serious rather than goofy and off-the-walls random. The characters will be getting a major make over and some may even get a name change and history change for copyright reasons. The first book "Brave New World" has been written out in summary and is awaiting proofreading by my producer, Morgan. Yes, Morgan, you are the official producer of Zodiac Productions. When I get the green light - and a computer to work with - I'll write it up. I'm so looking forward to this.

All-in-all, I plan for "Freiheit" to go up to twelve books total, that way all plot points and stuff are covered in their entirety. Will this get done? Maybe.

And to any and all gamers on my friends list here, I have come across an X-Box 360 and will be accepting friend requests when I get my lazy ass up and moving. Truth be told, Joy's not too pleased with me constantly bringing shit home with me. I'll admit, it's hard to find places to put my belongings in a cramped up room. I might just have to take stuff back to the Sherman house.

Well, that's it. I can't think of anything else to write about. I'll post again when I get the chance.

Writer's Block: Gone but Not Forgotten [09 Dec 2008|11:08pm]

Many beloved television shows are no longer with us, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, and Mystery Science Theater 3000. What defunct television show do you miss the most?

I miss Angel. Haven't seen that show in forever. That and Firefly.

Some news! [26 Nov 2008|10:51pm]
Do any of you guys remember my story/fanfic I've been ranting and raving about for years? Freiheit! I'm thinking about restarting it from the beginning. However, this is what I plan to do:

1. Original characters -- As much as I loved having my character pair off with people from Suikoden and Sailor Moon and all that, it's not going to be good if I ever plan to publish this.

2. New storyline -- Let's face it, in seasons one through two, there pretty much was none. You guys were confused, weren't you? Well, I'm going to fix it.

3. New antagonists -- The Black Hearts would sound too much like the Heartless from Kingdom Hearts. Instead, they will be replaced by an over-religious group called the Order of the Tear. Their goal in life is to "wake people up to reality." In other words, tell people to forget their dreams, their fantasies, and become people who are dull and boring. Not really, but that's sounds boring to other people. Hell, these guys vandalize a high school in the first chapter.

4. Some familiar faces -- People like Drake, Mahna, and even the bitchy Justice Bureau general, Filauna, will remain in the story with a different, or same, back story.

5. No 108 Stars of Destiny. Let's face it, that was hell to come up with those. How does Konami do it?

6. The Arcana -- The fate of the people in "Freiheit" and it's many sequels will now be determined by the Major Arcana, rather than the stars. For example, Drake Pendragon is now the one that represents the Fool arcana in the mysterious Urelia's tarot deck.

All in all, I expect this to go well. I've only written the first chapter and am thinking about posting it either on LJ, fanfiction.net, or even my deviantart page. My fanfiction and deviantart pages are the same, geminidrake. Whenever I post the chapter, feel free to comment, make suggestions, or even make your own predictions. Trust me, Freiheit will be better than it was before.

Long time no write [26 Nov 2008|10:36pm]
Hey guys! I know it's been forever and a frickin' year (almost) since I last posted. Sorry, hectic life schedule, what with me switching jobs and all. As you may've known, I had a job at the Game Exchange on Wabash in Springfield. It was a nice little work place. I loved working there and the people I worked with were all cool. My boss, Joel, is the coolest person you can meet, just don't piss him off. Jake, my assistant manager, was a cool person as long as you had a conversation topic that he deemed talkable. Best thing is that he knows half the people I knew from Lincoln Land and the mall group. Alex... he was a character. Didn't get to work with the other guy Tony too much. Johnny, him and I always had something to do there. Good times... Until the demons of the abyss, Fred and Stacy Richmond, erupted from their white trash-trailer park-herpe infested state of whatever.

They show up out of nowhere and tell us to pack up everything and that we're moving the store. Sure, no problem. Well, except the fact I had developed a calcium deposit in the base of my index finger. Where exactly? Look at your palm on the right hand. See where the index finger connects to the hand? That's where it formed. Major suckage. Couldn't lift too many boxes without having a pain fit. Thankfully, Fred wasn't around for those. Oh-no, instead he MAKES me move in most of the crap we moved into the truck on the first day into our new store. I didn't get out of there until 11 that night. Major bullshit. Then, I find out from Johnny that he had a private conference with Stacy and Fred. It turns out once everything was moved in they were going to fire all of us except Johnny. Plus, they were going to do something to get Jake in jail somehow. AND they were going to fire me for being autistic. They didn't say that, but hinted it. "I don't trust that Drew kid, Johnny, he seem retarded." In an outrage, we all quit. My dad told me to quit, even though he knew it wasn't the professional thing to do. But I was livid. So, Johnny's mom, Joy, gets me a job at the Dollar General near her house. In a deal, she allowed me to move in with her and the rest of the household as long as I paid her $25 a week. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Dollar General pretty good. Boring for the most part, but good. I'll admit, I don't get $200 checks, but that's fine. This next check coming up on Friday's going to be a dozy. Heh-heh-heh... 35 hours when I was scheduled 22. Oh yeah. Even my manager, Andrea, the NICEST woman you could meet, next to Joy of course, says my check is going to be big. Hell, last week I placed second in hours at our store next to my other manager, Elaine. All-in-all, it's going good.

Christmas shopping is killin' me, but I'm nearly done.

My prayers go out to Joy, who is sick unfortunately with something weird. Amy thinks it's her appendix. I hope not. That's going to suck. The poor woman's had enough surgery in her lifetime, she doesn't need anymore. Plus it would suck if she had to leave Dollar General because of it.

In other news, since I moved in with Joy, she gave me her male cocker spaniel, Sam. He is such a sweet heart. Annoying at times, and gluttonous, but still a good dog.

Crazy Weekend [21 Apr 2008|08:18am]
[ mood | curious ]

I'm not sure whether to call it a good crazy or bad or in-between. Those who live in the Illinois area, you should know we had a strong tremor Thursday morning at around 4:30. God, that sucked! My entire life and I never experienced an earthquake. How did everyone fare?

Anyway, now I'm onto a book rant, a good one. The past few days, I've been expanding my book history. As you know, earlier in the year, I've been reading the "His Dark Material" series ("Golden Compass," "Subtle Knife," and "Amber Spyglass"). That took me quite a few weeks to finish up. At least I'll know what happens if the other two books are made into movies. Recently, I've read the book "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman. If anyone's familiar with the movie with Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert DiNero, and Claire Danes, disregard everything you saw in that movie. The book has a better telling. I can tell why they did what they did in the movie, but come on. And now, my latest book, "The Kingdom Keepers" by Ridley Pearson. Has anyone been to the Magic Kingdom in Florida? If you had, you'll enjoy this book. It's a thriller book in which five kids are chosen to enter the park during night after they sleep. I'm not saying too much, but I have to say when they introduced the main villain of the book I reread that part cause it was cool that he put that person in. Don't think of it as a kiddie book either, this book contains blood and creepy dolls coming to life and coming after you and - whoa, don't spoil it.

Okay, and now to end this post. No one else felt it, I bet, but we had another tremor at 12:30 this morning. I know I'll be fine when those come, but it's getting to the point where I can't sleep anymore. What's weird is, and I'm not joking, I feel them happen even before they occur. Okay, I'll stop now and let you guys continue your lives.

In case something really REALLY bad happens to me, or to any of you guys in the IL area, I just want to let you all know, I love you guys very VERY much! You guys have been great over the years for reading my crap on GJ (if you had) and possibly attempting to read my stories. If we do survive, I still mean what I say.

I'm Back [07 Apr 2008|08:47am]
[ mood | tired ]

I'm sorry for not being a no show in the last... God knows how long. A lot of things have came up. Too many things.

1. Trying to find a job with help from someone from ERC. It's going okay.
2. Trying to write the cross-over project of my fic between "Freiheit" and "Dämmerung." Haven't even started.
3. Plotting for a special "thank you" project for the fans of my fic by preparing another project that explains the full origin of Morgan's character, Mahna Pendragon, and what truly happened in her first mission.

Other than that, nothing really happened lately except for Johnny and Kathlyn getting married on March 8th. Don't know if I mentioned that. Yeah, I did. Nevermind. I've also been playing the hell out of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Persona 2, and even watching the live action Sailor Moon show, which is not so bad as I thought. The girl they got to play Sailor Mercury is a hottie, in my opinion. Sucks no one knows where she is currently. When I have something more interesting to say, I'll write more. Until then, guys.

Stolen from Yibbs [29 Feb 2008|08:32am]
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them on your LJ for everyone to guess (no fair using IMDb or Google!).
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.

For Todd [25 Feb 2008|09:21am]
[ mood | for you, Todd ]

A poem from me to you, good friend:

"It was on this day the Sixth Street Game Crazy closed early
When news struck home, it began to snow
Your snow, to me, were your tears for us
And our tears for you
We wept for you as you were taken to the great beyond
The world wept for you because you touched our lives so
You wept for us knowing how our lives meant so much with you in them
Whatever reasons we wept for, there's one thing for sure
We will never forget 2/25/07..."

Take a swig of Mr. Pibb, raise right hand up with fingers almost in talon shape, then unleash the signature Todd call. Those who knew him, you know. If you did, I want you to do just that, right now.

R.I.P. Todd
You will never be forgotten by your true friends
